The Mane Attraction Initial Thoughts

So, I dip my toes into the harsh, choppy pool of MLP episode analysis and almost immediately I come across an episode that makes me sink. "The Hoofields and the McColts" doesn't get a full length post because dammit, I cannot think what to write about it, save that something about it felt...somehow wrong. That, and why does Twilight be seeming to devolve back to 'literally can't do anything without books being involved' mode? Didn't she get past that? Or am I imagining things?
Thankfully, we come back into an episode that makes me breathe a sigh of relief, because it feels like MLP once again. The fact that this is Amy Keating Rogers writing
